In addition, the service module provides MACsec (802.1AE) hardware-based encryption for the network/uplink ports. The Cisco service module has custom dedicated hardware for FNF monitoring and dedicated hardware for MACsec. Therefore, there is no effect on packet forwarding performance and latency.
